Blacksmiths Cottage Nursery

We are a small nursery situated in South Norfolk, which specialises in perennials and woodland plants. We have large collections of Geranium, Geum, Astrantia, Sanguisorba, and Polygonatum as well as many rare and unusual species. All of our plants are grown in Peat-Free compost.

We have a selection of display beds on the nursery including our Gravel Beds, our Shade Bed (which looks its best at spring time), and our Barn Garden which is open in August and September to walk around free of charge.

The Potting Shed is our multi-purpose building on the nursery where we serve home-made refreshments. It also provides us with toilet facilities and is the venue for our lectures and events which we hold throughout the year. See our Events page for more details.

We have a collection of animals at the nursery, many of which are part of captive breeding programmes. We have a wide range of species including Red Squirrels, English Partridge, South American Lapwing and several species of Crane. The collection is not open to the public, however, some of the animals can be seen from The Potting Shed windows and we do hold wildlife days throughout the year to allow you to get a little closer to the animals.
